The Art of Photography
Whether it be a scenic view, a crowd of people, a creature, a rock or a flower, there is always an Artistic angle to view Life. For me photography can transcend the physical dimensions of an object or form by capturing the timelessness of a moment, the immeasurable depth of an emotion, the enduring cycles of nature, an incredible design, or indescribable beauty.

to my display of photographic Art
I purchased my first SLR camera in 1984 to use as a note book for my artistic creative pursuits. While presenting photographs as art in themselves was often a temptation, the passion to develop and share with others only came after living in the heart of the Daintree World Heritage Rainforests of Far North Queensland, Australia.
It was this amazing environment that inspired the artist in me in so many ways and soon had me wading into the rainforest, camera in hand, following the sounds of hidden creatures, crouching silent and motionless for hours, reluctantly feeding the mosquitoes, while waiting for another call or rustle that would lead me toward the mysteries waiting to be revealed.

Finding a home in the Northern Territory I have grown to love this unique area that is so removed from the hustle and bustle.
I love the bone-permeating warmth that inexplicably binds me to the environment and energises my passion for nature.
The landscape here holds an aura of ancient wisdom steadfastly preserved in its various landforms, flora, fauna, coasts, rivers and culture.
Then there is the infamous weather. From the extreme lip-cracking Dry season, through testing Build-Up, to the bucketing rain of the Wet, with its spectacular lightening shows and thunder claps that roll on like they have no end.
The natural compositions, the harmony of colours and ingenious designs of Life, these are the inspiration that compel me to share these wonders with others and in doing so promote awareness that our Planet is a living, breathing entity, a magical balance held together by the intricate web of all that exists.
As an artist, I am just one of the many shades that make up the spectrum. When I feel the allure of a subject, a medium, or a technique, I will use them to communicate and encourage meaningful reverence for our natural environment, humanity and the spiritual aspects of them.
The more We are aware of what We have to lose, the more likely We are to take action to preserve it.
